How To Elevate Your Guests’ Experience

There are simple, beautiful and creative ways to elevate your guest experience at a wedding:

  • Signage: Hire a professional to plan your signage including, escort cards, table numbers, menus, an order of events sign. Think creatively. What kind of spin could you put on your signage and paper items for your guests? An interactive table seating chart, a colorful photo opportunity, etc.

  • Music: I am a huge fan of having live ceremony and cocktail music. This sets the mood for the entire evening, allowing your guests to float gracefully from one event to another. With the ceremony ending and cocktail hour beginning, who doesn’t want to be played out by a lovely string quartet?

  • Passed hors d'oeuvres: If your budget aligns, passed appetizers is a nice way to keep guests in one area for mingling and to elevate their experience. Ideally there would be music playing live as well;)

  • Newlyweds attending cocktail hour, if possible: You and your planner create the timeline, if you want to mingle with friends and family before dinner, DO IT. It is your day! It will slow the day down and you will have a golden opportunity to say hello to your guests and try your hors d'oeuvres.

  • Guest book: I have seen creative ways for your guests to take a minute from the bar and appetizers and to leave a message, note or advice for you.

  • A seamless timeline: Hire a day of coordinator for this one!

  • Verbal thank you’s: Your wedding day is about you, yes, but your guests have come a long way to celebrate. After speeches, say a personal and heartfelt thank you to your guests for coming and supporting you. This will be so meaningful and something your guests will remember!

  • Add in personal touches whenever possible: Spice up your first dance, add a couples cocktail to the bar menu, bring in your favorite crazy dessert, tell a personal fun story, honor your grandparents and other loved ones. If given the opportunity, add personal touches to every part of your wedding!
