A Stylish Home Wedding

September 3, 2021 Full Wedding Planning: Lindsey and Sam’s backyard, candlelit wedding was an evening to remember! When Lindsey and Sam pivoted on their original venue plans, they knew they wanted to celebrate their wedding somewhere special, Lindsey’s childhood home. All summer, they worked tirelessly on the lawn, trimming trees, making room for a tent, dance floor, ceremony site, cocktail spot and all around party! Having a home wedding is not for the faint of heart. We planned everything from start to finish from the high peak tent to the luxury restroom trailers (Ty’s Wedding Rentals) to the bartenders from Lindsey’s beloved local brew hall (Shakopee Brew Hall). Everyone worked hard to make this celebration come to life!

The wedding timeline is a key part of any wedding day and at each step of the planning process, we added personal details to make the evening feel like Lindsey and Sam. After a beautiful and misty ceremony and aisle exit into a friends retro car; guests enjoyed cocktail hour complete with Lindsey and Sam’s favorite Greek Food (Naughty Greek). We invited all guests to be seated as Lindsey and Sam entered their reception right to the dance floor for a first dance as husband and wife. They kicked off the party with a champagne pour and the evening was in full swing! The most memorable parts of any wedding are the personal touches that make it feel like the couple. If there is ever a chance to personalize any part of a wedding celebration, I am all for it! In this case at your home, it all feels personal, warm and inviting!

Cheers to Lindsey and Sam! Thank you, thank you, thank you for trusting HoneyHill to bring your wedding vision to life!

**Important notes to keep in mind when planning an at home or backyard wedding: Power, licensing, restrooms, ceremony and reception seating (or reuse) alternative weather plans, set up, clean up, spraying for bugs, water service, dishes and silverware clean up, linen clean up and removal, parking, elderly guest access to important spots on the property, extra budget for all these items, and so much more!
